Free 1-Week Course: Prepare your mind for your Wealth Journey

Day 1 – Decide & Commit

You’ll need:

  • A Notebook (Wealth Journal) & pen or pencil – Or you can create a new doc on your computer if you prefer.
  • 20-30 minutes

Have you made a decision to work towards the life you want for yourself?

Let’s Begin With Some Questions – ⏰20-min

Think deeply about each question. Grab your Wealth Journal and write down your answers to the following questions.

  1. How long have I been working?
  2. In that time, how much would I say I’ve earned altogether?
  3. Of my total earnings, how much of that do I have saved today?
  4. Am I able to work less than I used to, and still support my lifestyle?
  5. Do I feel that my work up to now has been worth it?
  6. Am I content where I am now financially? Has what I’ve been doing so far worked out well for me in my opinion?
  7. What would a more ideal situation look like today?
  8. Who has been training me on what to do with my money? Has it been Banks, Lenders, Corporations, and Wall Street like is the case with most people? Do I trust they have my best interest at heart?
  9. Am I willing to change some of my beliefs and habits going forward, if it would benefit me?
  10. Am I ready to commit to increasing my financial freedom? If not, what would I need to be ready?

How Do You Feel After Pondering These Questions?

The big-picture goal here is to manage your money in new ways that will let you retire earlier.

First, you gain back control of your money, and then you gain back control of your time and your life.

What this would look like is that…

You could be “work-optional”. You’d no longer need to work to pay your bills because they’d be covered whether you worked or not.

You could choose your own schedule and spend time doing things important to you.

Do you have the motivation to reach that point?

Great! That’s the end goal of this journey, and it’s easier than you think with the right guidance.

A key ingredient that will allow all these lessons to come together and work for you, is if you’ve made a decision.

The decision to make some positive changes to build the life you want.

Warning: If you haven’t made a clear choice and are excited to see the transformation process through, the following lessons here could be a waste of time for you.

And your time is truly your most precious resource.

Why Mindset Is Important:

The choices we’ve made and actions we’ve taken, beneficial or not, have gotten us to this point, right?

Yes, financial freedom is partially about the numbers, but the key shift here will be about improving financial behavior, which stems from your beliefs and assumptions, your way of thinking, and your emotions.

If you haven’t already…

Make a final decision to be excited about changing some of your beliefs, thoughts, and emotions to more beneficial ones.

Then you can begin taking actions specifically intended to reduce unnecessary obligations and increase your financial freedom.

Committed?

Let’s begin!

Day 2 – Out With The Old # 1: Unsubscribe

You’ll need:

  • Your Wealth Journal
  • Your computer
  • 20-30 minutes

Email Inbox – ⏰15-min

Here’s a list of possible email subscriptions that clutter your mind and reduce you to a quivering pile of paralyzed mediocrity.

  1. Stock market & Investment Indoctrination poison. (hint: they don’t care about you)
  2. Mainstream personal finance & Banking Propaganda (read: scrimp and save and then put every drop of surplus at risk)
  3. Companies you bought one thing from online
  4. Companies you almost bought one thing from online.
  5. Useless marketing emails from companies that bought your info
  6. Endless follow-up emails after free downloads (you never looked at)
  7. Social media notifications (why subject yourself to this?)
  8. Other redundant app or service notifications

For each of these types of emails, you should be able to find an “unsubscribe” link or a “manage email settings” link at the very bottom of the email. Look back over the past couple of weeks and click those links to ruthlessly cut these subscriptions from your inbox.

One trick is to search your entire inbox for emails containing the word “Unsubscribe”. This search should reveal pretty much all of the marketing and newsletters at once.

Also, be ready with your finger on the trigger to dispatch any new junk mail that will be coming your way in the future.

  • 20-30 minutes

www.Unroll.me – ⏰10-min

If you were unable to bring yourself to unsubscribe completely from certain lists because you think you may need the useless, time-sucking junk mail at some point later, you can use www.Unroll.me to hide these remaining email subscriptions from your inbox until you’re actually ready to see them again.

Did you keep investing email subscriptions?

Use www.unroll.me

We haven’t reached the investing stage yet. Their time will come eventually.

Each day you’ll get only one email from unroll.me with your daily rollup.

Warning: Just make absolutely sure that if you decide to use Unroll.me, you also opt out of their info sharing so they can’t collect and then sell your data.

Here’s a screenshot from their website on how to do that:

Phone App Notifications – ⏰5-min

Go into your phone settings and turn off or adjust notification settings for all apps that aren’t super important. Simple.

This will bring much peace to your life. I promise.

Do it!

Also, if you have some apps that you still want to receive notifications from, but they are not urgent notifications and you have an iPhone, you can choose to have all notifications sent at one particular time of day of your choosing.

Other Phone Settings – ⏰5-min

Your phone should have some settings that allow you to make unknown numbers silent, or send certain calls directly to voicemail. On my iPhone, they are

  • Settings > Phone > Silence Unknown callers
  • Settings > Phone > Call Blocking & Identification > Silence Junk Callers

You’ll need:

  • Your Wealth Journal
  • Your computer or phone
  • 20-30 minutes

We just freed up a bit of time and headspace. We must now reallocate our newfound resources intentionally and wisely.

Now to replace all that junk info with some health info.

Now you have time to study what it takes to regain financial control.

Check out our beneficial media below – ⏰20-min

  • Read through My Blog to get an idea of my approach and my biases.
  • Click the link below and bookmark our “Wealth Toolbox.” At different points in the journey, I may recommend some of the books and resources found here. Wealth Toolbox
  • Watch: My Youtube Channel (very few videos at this point. More to come later, maybe)

Day 6 – In With The New # 2: Choose One Book

You’ll need:

  • Your Wealth Journal
  • Your phone
  • 10-15 minutes

Self-education – ⏰5-min

It’s always one of the best investments you can make because YOU will always be your greatest asset.

Now that you have all this new freed-up time, why not delve into some Wealth-Inducing literature?

Go to Wealth Toolbox and browse the recommended books there. Then pick one. And start reading it. You can buy the book, or also listen to them on Audible.

Do you have a library card? – ⏰5-min

If you have a library card, see if you can listen to or read your chosen book for free. Search for and install the free “Libby” app on your phone, and enter your library card number.

If you don’t have a library card, go get one. That’s your next assignment.

You already pay for the library with your taxes. Now use it for free and save your spending money.

Go to the nearest library with your ID and a couple of pieces of your mail to prove you live where you live, and they’ll give you a free card.

One of the awesome things about the library is that you choose what you consume there, instead of being force-fed a bunch of wealth-sucking hogwash through Youtube, the mass media, and email lists.

See how that works? We’re regaining control now.

  • You’ve freed up a little time and headspace in your life.
  • You’ve introduced some sources of beneficial financial learning and un-learning.
  • You’ve picked one relevant book to start reading.
